Dew is a Socratic tutor built to grow your child's thinking — not to do it for them. Here is exactly how we protect them.
Dew asks questions and leads your child to the answer themselves, one small step at a time, so AI builds their reasoning instead of replacing it.
Every maths answer is verified by a deterministic checker (SymPy), not the language model — so Dew never "corrects" your child with something wrong.
Dew only helps with maths, general knowledge, and creative writing; other topics are gently declined. Every message is moderated, and signs of distress (bullying, self-harm) are met with care and a nudge to talk to a trusted adult — Dew never acts as a counselor.
We collect the minimum: your email, and your child's first name and grade band — never a birthdate or unnecessary personal details. Photos your child sends are read once to understand the problem and then discarded — they are never stored. You can export or delete all of your data at any time from Settings.
Dew runs on models we host ourselves — your child's conversations are not sent to third-party AI services.
Nothing happens for your child until you give parental consent, and you can revoke it or delete their data whenever you wish.
